The Minnesota Shubert Center project is much more than just the renovation of the Shubert Theater. The $41 million project costs include the move of the theater as well as the cost of renting, and later purchasing, the land on which the theater was placed.
Each of the 15 arts organizations that will work and perform in the Minnesota Shubert Center has a desperate need for adequate space. If they all were to build their own facility, each space would cost $10 million on average. That would be another $150 million worth of philanthropic need that is satisfied by this $41 million campaign.
